IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT!
Sometimes when implementing a change project, there's a battle to overcome the legacy of the last failed project. Like the elephant it seems, our colleagues also have a long memory.
I personally love change. To me, life is change and it's inevitable. But I get the point here too. There are times when change is done poorly and unfortunately that can leave behind it a long shadow to deal with.
There aren't any quick fixes and it's not something you can 'Comms your way out of'. Employees have a way of smoking out inauthenticity.
So what can be done to address the issue of a previous change legacy?
🧱 There needs to be extra impetus on building trust and rapport
🐌 Change processes may need to be slowed right down to allow time for discussion, trust and relationship
🔬 We need to look at the root cause of the issues to identify where things went wrong last time
🔎 We must build a bank of evidence of how things are succeeding What would you add to the list to overcome a change legacy?
